My HostingMegatron.com WordPress website uses the Astra theme. This is a clone site of my original site just recently. The original site does not have the issue stated below...

    Cloned Site Problem...

The Home page defaults to what appears to be the Twenty Twenty Four theme (My Blog). It does not default to my Hosting Home page.

The tab reads, 'My Blog - My WordPress Blog'. I went to Appearance >> Themes and deleted the Twenty Twenty Four theme including all the other free themes leaving my Ashra theme the only one appearing which is active.

However, the 'My Blog' theme still appears as the Home Page which is not my Hosting Home page. Sometimes I can get my Hosting Home page to appear once in a while.

    Did the following...

Went to Settings >> Reading and everything was correct... Static Page toggled with Homepage: Home and Posts page: --Select-- . I clicked the 'Save Changes' button anyway. The Hosting Home page appeared. But when I clicked the Reload button in the browser, the Twenty Twenty Four appeared on the Home page instead. Clicked the Reload browser button again repeatedly sometimes the Hosting Home page appears -- Issue Not Resolved

Cleared the web browser cache, WP Rocket Cache, and Cloudflare cache. Try different web browsers and incognito. Sometimes the Hosting Home page appears -- Issue Not Resolved

Went to Settings >> General. WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) both have the same correct URLs, https://hostingmegatron.com .

Even tried navigating through the site and back to the Home page. The 'My Blog' page appears. The Hosting Home may or may not appear once.

Went to Settings >> Permalinks. The post name is set to /%postname%/. I clicked the Save Changes button anyway. The Hosting Home page did not appear -- Issue Not Resolved

Cleared the web browser cache, WP Rocket Cache, and Cloudflare cache. Try different web browsers and incognito. Sometimes the Hosting Home page appears -- Issue Not Resolved

Went to Appearance >> Customize >> Homepage Settings. The Hosting Home page appears. Static page toggled on, Homepage: Home, and Posts page --Select --. Everything is fine -- Issue Not Resolved

Went to Elementor >> Site Settings - Customize. The Hosting Home page appeared. Click the gear (Settings) button at the bottom. Under 'General Settings', Title: Home. Everything is fine. Pretended to make an edit change and then clicked the 'Update' button.

Next, closed Elementor and clicked the 'Save' button in the upper right corner. In the right column, has Link: https://hostingmegatron.com which is correct.

Next, reload the blog page with the 'My Blog' Home page (Twenty Twenty Four theme) appearing -- Issue Not Resolved

Reload the Home page, tried clearing the browser cache, WP Rocket cache, Cloudflare cache Issue Not Resolved
    ---------------

As you can see, I tried everything I could think of. If you know of something that I haven't tried, I would like to know what that is. I'm trying to figure out where else would that Twenty Twenty Four theme or My Blog Home page be so I can delete it. Would it be in the database/tables?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @pbsbluejay !

From what I understand on your cloned WordPress site, you’re experiencing an issue where the homepage defaults to the Twenty Twenty Four theme instead of the Astra-themed Hosting Home page, despite attempts to resolve it by checking settings, clearing caches, and verifying URLs.

If the Twenty Twenty Four theme is deleted but still shows its layout, it might be retained in the database. Before making any changes to the database, create a backup first.

You can check by accessing through FTP and going to the wp-content/themes/ directory if there are no residual files of the deleted Twenty Twenty Four theme. And review any custom code snippets or custom plugins that might unintentionally reference the old Twenty Twenty-Four theme.

Another option is to access the database using phpMyAdmin and look for references to the Twenty Twenty Four theme in the wp_options table and search for “template”. If it’s set to twentytwentyfour, change it to your current theme, astra. You can repeat the search for stylesheet. After making changes, clear your site’s cache again and check. I hope you find this helpful!
