• After uploading all my wordpress files into the domain folder of my directory I tried to run the install scrip (mydomain/wp-admin/install.php) however, I keep encountering the same error. on Google Chrome it says “Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to https://www.serveinc.net” and with I.E. I get “Internet Explorer could not connect to the webpage”

I have my config.php absolutely correct, but I’m not sure I have my wordpress files in the right directory.

I want my urls to be https://www.serveinc.net, so my directory listing in filezilla is
    /
    >Logs
    >Serverinc.net
    >>wordpress

I’m not sure how to fix this and make the install script run correctly

  • What host do you use?

when I click on that link, I get a directory listing, and your WP folder isn’t in it. Instead, it is:

    [DIR] cp/ 19-May-2010 04:06 –
    [DIR] modlogan/ 19-May-2010 04:06 –
    [DIR] webalizer/ 19-May-2010 04:06 –

So look for the folder with all of those items present, and that will be the one where you should install.

    I use ixwebhosting.com

I’ve uploaded the wp files into each folder in the directory and nothing is working.

When I go to my website (www.serveinc.net/wp-dmin/install.php) ait just says 404 not found.

What do you mean, exactly, when you say that you’ve “uploaded the wp files into each folder in the directory”?

If you want your wordpress blog to be your main site, all the wordpress files should be in your root.
