WordPress Failure Notice – Can not logout

  • Hello, there is an issue with my website that the user cannot log out, and it is redirected to a failure notice page. After log in to My Account and click Logout, I got a WordPress Failure Notice:

    “You are attempting to log out of LGS
    Do you really want to log out?”

    After I confirm log out and return to the homepage, I am still logged in under My Account.

    The link of the redirected WordPress Failure Notice page is:

    The WordPress version I have is 3.7.1, and I have a woocommerce theme.

    I have tried the following:
    – Contacted the theme support, they said it’s a problem of WordPress.
    – Deactivated all the plug-ins, but still having the problem.
    – Checked the logout codex. It has the proper default logout codex.

    Please advise how can I fix the problem? What might be reason cause the issue? Thank you for your help in advance.

  • wordpress sets a cookie in your browser to log your session

    clear your cache and see if you are still logged in.

    if you are something seriously wrong is happening

    at that point you might want to reinstall wordpress from the update menu
    if its a website with no content yet you might want to just reinstall everything.

    Thanks JumboClicks for your response. I manually deleted the cookies in the browser, and that logged me out.

    I’ve listed all the products in the website and have some users registered, will I lose the content (theme, product listings, user data) if I re-install wordpress? Thanks.

    Under my WordPress, and going to Tools -> Upgrade, there is no re-install option.

    Any tutorial of how to re-install wordpress without lossing the content?

    If possible, I really hope there is a solution to fix the problem without re-installing wordpress. Any idea? Thanks.
