Well, I have an interesting Problem. I am not sure if it should go here, or into Install, but I think here is more appropriate.

I have installed wordpress, Hell, It looks great, I can see it, update the templates, and do, basically whatever needs to be done. So far so good, right?

Not quite. I was about to test the server, to make sure everything works, and someone from IRC asked me, ‘Why does it give me a ‘connecting to 192.168.1.6 error’ then timeout’? at first, I initially thought that my router was to blame. So, I removed it, and hooked up a hub/relay.

Then, When he tried again, He noted that it was redirecting him to 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and obviously failing. I thought, that Apache or PHP was to blame, so I looked through the httpd.conf, saw nothing unusual, tried making a new directory for it (it worked for Phpmyadmin, so mabye it would work with this) It didn’t.

In fact, all that I was able to discern was that php worked, and strangely enough, I noticed immediately afterwards, that I could access the root directory, https://75.153.252.101:666/ without a problem. More so, I could access the https://75.153.252.101:666/wordpress/ directory, as long as the mysql database was not selected, or it could not connect.

So, I know the problem is mysql based, but other than that, I am not sure where to look, or to even begin looking. any suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a coomon mistake that self-appointed web admins make… What are the two URL values in your admin > Settings > General?

Yep, that was exactly the problem. Thanks for pointing that out… I guess RTFM applies here.
