WordPress from Subfolder, site down

I would recommend you to approach your hosting provider for this. By default, if the domain points to let’s say /public_html and now you wish to have the WordPress code which is placed in one folder called vsm something like /public_html/vsm/

your hosting can point it to that folder so all files which are within folder vsm will appear.

Thanks kartiks16, I think that if I redirect the domain to the new folder, the problem will persist. But that’s certainly an option for afterwards if I can’t resolve the issue.

At the moment, the index redirects to /vsm/index.php/ then is showing a 500 error.

If you access https://valuestreammachinery.com/vsm/wp-admin it works so the problem is with htaccess and URLs only.

Did you change the site-url and home-url and updated the permalinks once?

I was changing the site-url and home-url to try to get around the /vsm/ issue, then the index stopped working.

I think it is a .htaccess issue, but since I’ve reset the home/site urls to
https://valuestreammachinery.com/vsm and updated Permalinks but it still won’t work.

Thanks for your help on this, is there a specific order to changing the urls/permalinks?
