• hi! i am looking to change my website over to WordPress. it is being hosted through godaddy.com and i can see all of the FTP Files on the godaddy.com site. However, the person who was previously working with it was doing it through Microsoft FrontPage. I also notice on the side panel of the godaddy site it says i can install wordpress as an “app” i do not want to crash the site..would this make sense to do?

also, i do not want the site to look like a blog..i want to have it look like a website with a side panel that has links to different categories. will this be something relatively easy to do? and can someone start me in the right direction?

    THANKS!!!!!

  • You can convert your HTML site to WordPress. Start with the codex:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Stepping_Into_Templates

There are lots of tutorials that will walk you through the steps and can easily be found with a quick search.

Depending on your ability/time to invest/willingness to learn you may be better off finding a pre-made free or paid theme that fills your design criteria and using that instead then re-adding your content to the WordPress site.

Thank you so much for that info! Will this just transfer it over or do i need to do something on godaddy.com to transfer the files?
