• To start with I am running Apache 2.4, MySQL 5.0 and PHP 5.5.36
With WordPress 4.6.1 all on a Windows 7 machine.

This started apparently because I have been working on installing Buddypress and bbpress. everything was working just fine untill I installed bbpress which is when i lost access to pretty much most of my admin page. i.e…

    https://localhost/my-site.com/wp-admin gives me a WordPress error page…

” Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

I have since uninstalled and deleted both plugins but still the condition persist.
When I am logged in as admin which is actually the only user configured on the site it’s the admin user the site was created with but now it apparently doesn’t have admin privileges to the site.
Is there a way to get WP back to its default condition.

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
