wordpress home page into two parts..

    Hi friends,

    I hvae installed wordpress 3.0.1 for my website and I post daily 10 posts.. Everything is fine but i need to change the home page. There are only two options for the homepage either i setup the latest post or can put a fixed page/post. But I want my home page should display the latest 1 post & some fixed article(500 words).

    i.e the article should be displayed constantly and below the article the latest post should come. So in that way I can explain with the article what my blog is intended and the latest post is useful for the seo purpose as my home page daily changes…
    How do I achieve this?
    please advise..
