WordPress ignoring template

Hi there,

I was hoping that someone might be able to clear up this query im having.

I have a page on one of my websites called “resorts” permalink reads, mysite.com/resorts and when i assign it to have it’s own template called “resorts overview” WordPress decided to ignore this and just show the index.php file instead.

But when i change the permalink to mysite.com/our-resorts it works fine and shows the proper template?? It’s the weirdest thing as it’s been working for months until the past couple of days.

It’s not massive deal as i just have to go and change all my links but i was just hoping someone would have some insight into whats happening?
