• For some reason, all of my image uploads are owned by Apache instead of the FTP user. When I upload an image, it shows in the media browser but when inserted into the page its not showing as an image, its shown as a broken image icon. What could i have possibly done to create this issue and how can i get this working again?

Im not sure exactly what other info to provide other than this:

? i dont have ssh access

? Permissions are set to 755 (Tried changing to 777 – same issue)

? When i upload the image via FTP – ownership is correct (As seen in FTP client) but the images arent shown in the Media Gallery in WP

? PHP safe mode is not on

? All previous image uploads have ownership of Owner: (FTP username) / Group: psacln. All new uploads have ownership: Owner: Apache / Group: Apache

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

File upload ownership is defined by the server settings, if the server says your site runs as the apache user, that’s what will be used.

If this has changed over time I’d start by asking your host if they’ve done any updates recently and mention that ownerships have changed.
