WordPress in its own folder

Is there a work around for my problem.
I tested your plugin on my new wordpess site that resided in its own folder – mysite/com/blog/ with no plugins and default theme and it worked fine.
I need to make my sites homepage wordpress homepage, i.e mysite.com and have the wp files still reside on mysite.com/blog/ as per
Giving WordPress Its Own Directory
Now the plugin doesnt work or show a preview
Is there a work around please?
