WordPress in subfolder with .htaccess; root folder with .htaccess and modrewrite

  • Hey all,

    I think this is an issue being discussed all over, but I didn’t find a specific answer to my question, so I’m posting this here.

    I have my wordpress installed in https://kailash.me/blog and it has a .htaccess file for permalinks.

    On the otherhand, to setup my portfolio, I want to use my root and use crust-free URLs so I’m using a .htaccess with rewriterules.

    Problem is when I do that the root folder’s .htaccess works perfect, but whereas /blog just shows up the directory listing.

    I think I am missing something here. Please advice a solution

  • Hey, I am having exactly the same problem you had. Please I would appreciate a solution in case you already have it.
    I mean, what do you need to write in the .htaccess file?

    You want your blog in a subfolder, but you want to have it appear like it’s in root?
