WordPress Inegrated Video Player – splash screen

I have 5 different video players in my wordpress site and am now finding that the integrated one works the best.

Recently I’ve switched my own videos over to Amazon Web Services (AWS) (free) and am playing them from that site. Unlike Vimeo or Youtube, this service does not create a splash screen for the video if they are MP4. AWS service is simple in the fact that you just place the URL within your post like any Vimeo or YT – easy. However, I get a black box that will work great once played but I would like to know if the WP integrated player has any shortcode or other switches that can be added to assign an image as the splash screen.
