WordPress Install Help

Hi i’m a newbie and any help you can help wld be much welcomed.
I’ve downloaded wordpress-3.5.1 –
I;m working from a Imac 27″ – Mac OSX version 10.7.5, process 2.7 GHz, 12 GB –

Ok so i’ve downloaded wordpress 3.5.1 – opened the readme – and then click the links in the page – file:///Users/StephanieHarawira/Downloads/wordpress/readme.html –

and nothing is happening – i’m a visual learner – is there videos that show step by step tutorials? anyways – your help wld be much apprecited. thanks
