    I have a site up and running with WordPress 2.7 and the client wishes to have a static landing page which is fine and works ok.

    The problem I have is that I installed WordPress into a folder within their hosting:

    http:www.their-url.com/companyName/

    This was done because the URL they wanted didn’t have anything to do with their company name so installing in a directory with the name of the company seemed like a good idea.

    Now they want to drop the /companyName/ part of the URL and just have:

    The site is nearly ready to launch but this needs to be cleared up to do so. I’ve stuck for how to accomplish this and hope that I’ve explained myself well enough that maybe someone can understand what I’m trying to do.

    I’d welcome any suggestions from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.

    Sorry, that was a bit of a trigger happy post. I found the solution in a post on this very forum.
