WordPress Integrity lists one file that I cannot find. I have turned on “Show Hidden Files” in File Manager.

The file has a red flag, blank file size, blank Modified at and the file path says wp-content/index.php. I cannot find this file, should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hello @austinblu

There’s a confusion with the flag colours, I should have documented this better.

Take a look at this image: https://i.imgur.com/JnMkFSo.png

Here you can see the three (3) different colours that the WordPress Integrity tool shows. Green means a file that is not part of a standard WordPress installation has been added and may be deleted if you don’t need it. Red means a file that is part of a standard WordPress installation has been deleted and needs to be restored. Purple means a file that is part of a standard WordPress installation and must be restored as soon as possible.

In your case, you see red, which means the file should exist, but it was deleted. You can use the actions at the bottom of the table to “Restore” the original content of the file.

Marking as resolved, let me know if you need more information.
