WordPress is causing a high server load

  • My wordpress multisite install is slowing down my server exponentially. This one process seems to be taking up alot of CPU power.

    /usr/sbin/mysqld –basedir=/ –datadir=/var/lib/mysql –user=mysql –pid-file=/var/lib/mysql/gre.$$$$$$$$$$$$.com.pid –skip-external-locking

    Does it relate to posts? tags? plugins? Anything?

  • Check your Options table in php my admin.

    There should be ideally 200-300 rows there. If there are any more (like in thousands) you need to clean that up. But please take a backup of the DB before doing so.
