    Hi,

I’ve left a development site untouched for a week or so, and when I look at the front end I receive a message:

https://www.example.com is currently unable to handle this request.
    500

I’ve both reset permalinks and disabled all plugins, and the issue remains.

    Advice appreciated.

    Regards,
    Steve.

  • Hello,

I am experiencing the same issue

“Domain.com is currently unable to handle this request.
    500″

I tried disabling the plugins, but that did not work. Any other things to try? I am new to WordPress.

    Thanks in advance.

Having a same issue i just added the code to update the cart thorugh ajax in functions.php file from wp editor and when i try to update file the given msg was shown on website and does’nt know ho to resolve it.

https://www.example.com is currently unable to handle this request.
    500

currently i can’t access my dashboard.

    please help me its urgent.

After getting the 500 error, I went in to my c-panel, renamed the plugins directory “plugins_old” and then my site was back. Then I renamed the directory back to “plugins” and now it says I have 48 active and 48 inactive plugins… and it won’t let me delete any. Also now none of the plugins work.

    any ideas?

Also, when I try to delete the plugins through the c panel it still doesn’t work.

My issue was resolved: login to c-panel (hosting) and delete some plugin,

How do I find the plugin that’s causing the problem?

I have installed about 3 plugins yesterday and had no problems. I then went to configure the firewall for one of those plugins and bang. I went to the cpanel and deleted 3 of the plugins I remembered I installed but none of this helped.

Any suggestions how I can locate the culprit?

Just had this issue and could get to the dashboard.
From Memory, the last thing what was updated was Jetpack, I deactivated and it appears to have fixed it.

    Jetpack was also my culprit.

Simply login to your site via FTP. Before messing with anything, make sure that you are in a view to see the last modified dates. Go to your plugin directory and see which one was last modified. For me this was Jetpack. I simply renamed the folder and was able to access my site again.

Upon logging back in, there was a new update for Jetpack, so I went into maintenance mode, renamed the folder back to its original name, and updated. All is well now.

    Just happened to my site.
Home page was fine but some pages were down.

Disabled jetpack and all functioning again.

    Thanks! ??

Thanks all, I got it fixed.

It wasn’t Jetpack in my case. It was WP Members. I updated some plugins yesterday and this was one of them. I went into the cpanel and renamed them one by one to eliminate the culprit.
    It’s working fine now.

    Thanks again!

Jetpack with me also. Someone had updated it to version 4.0

Pay attention kids…Never update anything to x.0

I note Jetpack has now gone to version:

    4.0.2

    Release date: April 21st, 2016

    Bug Fix:

Addresses an issue where Jetpack 4.0 caused a fatal error on sites with specific configurations.

    Hello,

So I was initially getting the “Domain.com is currently unable to handle this request. 500” error when trying to access my website. I tried disabling the plugins by renaming the plugin folder but that did not work. I do not have any custom themes and I believe it was using TwentyTwelve theme from what I could see from the phpMyAdmin database settings. I found another post suggesting to rename the default theme to another name so I tried renaming “TwentyTwelve” to the “TwentySixteen”, but that generated a new error message.
    “Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”
I changed everything back, but now I’m am only getting the new error message above.
I also tried to update WordPress to 4.5 (was 4.4) and there is no change.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Update:
I decided to try a new install of WordPress, but I still get the same error:

    “Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You may restore old sql database when this errors were not generated. generally available of before 10 hours or old. You may find in Cpenal which generates auto backup last. Your problem will be resolved.

this problem is occurred due to half sql query submission or wrong/invalid php code submitted i.e like mass data submission(Site down because of Max time execution limits) or wrong/invalid php code submitted in via post data/invalid modification of php file.
