WordPress is unable to create directory?

    I am trying to upload imagery from my computer via the online admin dashboard (Media: Add New on the main lefthand navigation) and I keep getting the following error message:

    Unable to create directory /usr/local/pem/vhosts/182916/webspace/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2009/04

    I spent some time on the phone with my server’s support (dotster) but they were unable to help me – I have no idea what to do!
