• Hi there!

I am trying to get my site so that my homepage is completely blank with just the background image and the links to the other pages. However, i don’t know the best way to do it. I originally had just made the body completely transparent, and then was going to get the other pages to ignore this using .myclass but i could not get it to work.

Does anyone know a way round this as my html and css knowledge is really limited and have been stuck on this for a while, I’d greatly appreciate the help!

    my site is: wwww.adammillsmusic.co.uk

    thanks guys!

haha thanks, i did read both these earlier but got confused… how do i go about creating the file in the ‘create your own template’ section, do i have to do this in my host?

and then once, i’ve done this how do i set up the menu links to my other pages?

Create the file in a plain text editor on your computer and call it something like homepage.php. Then use FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides) to upload this new file to your theme’s folder in wp-content/themes.

then once, i’ve done this how do i set up the menu links to my other pages?

    I’m not sure I understand the question…

Thanks for the first part, that all makes sense ??

I guess i meant that when i’ve now created this new homepage, what will be the best way to get it so that it looks like all my other pages but without the content…as in just the background image and the menu with the links to my other pages…does that make sense!? sorry it’s my lack of knowledge probably making in unclear!

what will be the best way to get it so that it looks like all my other pages but without the content

Base the new file on your theme’s current page.php file but omit the code for The Loop. Then, if you’re feeling really adventurous, create a new custom menu location within the page’s content area and use that to display a specific custom menu.
