WordPress keeps logging me out

    If I go to my site from the dashboard, I seem now to automatically get logged out. Previously, I remained logged in and could click the edit button, etc, at the top.

    I log in again and the same thing happens each time.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you – but the settings were correct and both settings were the same. I also looked at the linked article “How to Fix WordPress Login Page Refreshing and Redirecting Issue” but that seems to be a different problem from mine.

    Any further suggestions?

    This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Does it happen in any other browser? Or on a mobile device or any other computer?

    It happens in both Opera and Chrome – I haven’t yet had the chance to try on another device.

    But, interestingly, I can edit a different www.ads-software.com site without any problems at all!

    Breaking news: It’s now OK in Google Chrome but still not in Opera!!

    (I just updated two plugins – don’t know if that had an effect.)

    And now it seems to be working fine in Opera too. I didn’t do anything except keep everything updated. If someone did something to solve it (eg: updating a plug-in or indeed updating WordPress) then thank you.

    Otherwise, fingers crossed it stays that way.
