wordpress keeps updating to the awful 5.0.1 version

    Hi,
    I’ve added this directive to my wp-config file:
    define(‘WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE’, false );

    however, the site keeps updating to the (IMO awful) latest version
    how can I stop that?

    please stop forcing this awful update!

    OK, I think I figured it out, iThemes security has this option:
    “Automatically install the latest WordPress release. ”
    which was checked
    I turned it off now.

    will update if it doesn’t help

    What’s awful about the 5.0.1 version compared to 5.0.0? It’s a minor security patch: https://www.ads-software.com/news/2018/12/wordpress-5-0-1-security-release/

    I didn’t say 5.0.0 is any better ??
    I’m staying at 4.9.9. for now
    Gutenberg is awful

    Particularly on this site where DIVI theme was used and Gutenberg breaks it (ps. I don’t like DIVI neither and prefer the Classic editor, but the original owner was using DIVI)
