• Hello,

I wanted to know if there is any way I can recover the data I lost on my WordPress self-hosted blog the last time they did a upgrade change from 3.0 to 3.0.1. I lost a lot of website content, and I was unable to backup my information up before they did the upgrade. I contacted Host Gator who I use as my hosting company, and they told me that they only back up files once a week, the prior week files get’s deleted once the new week starts (every Sunday). The WordPress upgrade happen over a month ago, so any feedback or advice would be helpful.

    Kindest Regards,
    Fredrick

  • If you didn’t back it up I’m afraid nobody here can help you. www.ads-software.com based sites are self-hosted — nobody here has any access to your data, I’m afraid.

You mention “they” did an upgrade — who’s “they?” That must be someone you’ve given access to your blog? You might visit with them and ensure that they properly back things up in the future. You might also consider installing a db backup plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/ to make that easier.
