wordpress latest upgrade

  • Hi,

    I’ve received notification that 3.5.2 is available and that it’s important to upgrade but that there are risks to installing upgrades to a working install.

    Can someone advise what kind of risks I might encounter and whether it’s safe to just click on the upgrade link?

  • The most obvious risk is database damage – which is why it is recommended that you carry out a database backup before you upgrade. Generally speaking, however, it is far more dangerous to ignore the upgrade notice. Cleaning up a hacked site is not fun.
