Deactivate all plugins and check whether this continues to happen afterwards. If not, one of the plugins you use is responsible.

This is an access protection that could also be set by your hosting. This is also supported by the fact that the subdomain is called “staging” – such systems are often protected by such accesses through effective access protection so that they do not appear in search engines. I also get this when I simply call up the domain with /wp-login.php.

I would therefore recommend that you contact your hoster. This may be set up there.

This is my test site. This is where i off all plugins and change themes safely before applying the fix on the main site. I have contacted my hosting and there is no any password protected files. Or maybe they haven’t checked further. Please advise if u face same

The protection seems to affect only the wp-login.php. Take a look at the .htaccess file. There could be an entry there.
