  • Everything that the page is loading is loading from 192.168.10.126. That’s a local network only IP address. No one outside of your local netowrk can access those resources. That means that none of your stylesheets, images or JavaScript files will be loaded by anyone that’s not in your local network.

This is a very common issue with WordPress. You can only use one URL. There’s no (easy) way to set up a site to allow multiples.

To get your site working correctly, you will have to update all of your links in your database 9and any that you have hard-coded in your site) to point to the correct publicy-available URL. There are plugins that can do that, but I normally use this tool.

Okay i kind of get you mean but i am running on ubuntu server will that tool still work and will i be able to access it inside my network

The tool is a collection of PHP scripts. If WordPress works, then that will work too.

You should be able to access it from inside the network as well, assuming that the computers that are attached to it all have public access.

ok cool so do i just install it to the server and if so where do i extract to and how do set it up im running ubuntu server 14.04.3 LTS
And thanks for the help and fast response

It’s just PHP files. You place them anywhere that lets you get them served to your browser.

As for setup, read the instructions on the page that I linked to. That tells you everything that you need to know.

i am still a little confused on exactly what i am supposed to do with it i accessed it from the web browser but i do not get what im supposed to replace

You’re supposed to replace the local URL (https://192.168.10.126) with the public URL (https://potatopublic120.no-ip.biz/wordpress).

ok i did that and logged into the data base and its still displaying the same thing you can even look again do i have to edit a table?? and just click update details right

All I can say is to follow the instructions. I didn’t write the tool, I just use it.

If you selected the right database, and entered the right things to replace it works (I know it does as I’ve used it a lot). f it doesn’t, you might want to contact the place that made it for support, or try one of the search-and-replace plugins that are available.

now i got it to work from outside but not inside is that just normal

Maybe. Do the internal PC’s have an internet connection to see the external resources? If they don’t, that’s the problem. if they do you might want to check your firewall or networking rules to see what’s allowed and what’s blocked.

I figured it all out thanks for all the help il mark this as solved
