I was trying to find a quick way to move most of the images from 1 gallery to another. First I tried to detach the images in the media library from their original gallery and attach them to the new one. They attached but they could not be seen when I clicked into the gallery that they were attached to.

Next I added the photos from scratch using media, library, add new media file – the images upload but even if I attach them to the approriate gallery they are still not visible – the file name uploads as is eg: moon.jpeg which is ideal and leads into another possible issue.

    HOWEVER

If I try to add the images via sunshine, all galleries and then by editing the appropriate gallery, the images upload but then they are given a much more complicated file name – this is an actual example: Moon-nda11Li2ko4nn56dxgnH3iwY.jpeg

I have always uploaded using the latter way when I have new images but have never experienced the long file names so my media library does not have consistent naming convention. In addition to this I am not sure if the first method I tried should have worked? Can anyone suggest what is happening please?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The long file names are a security measure to better protect the images, you can learn more here: https://www.sunshinephotocart.com/3-4-enhanced-image-security-for-all/

Brilliant feature, which I will definately start to use when I create client galleries etc. However at the moment, I prefer the naming conventions to be consistent so I have tested a file name changing plugin and taken the additional letters and figures off so that the image file names revert back to the image file name I gave it originally and have catalogued. Many thanks for your continued support.

I have made a new setting available to allow you to disable this random string in the file names if you want, but it will be the default to have them there.

Thank you for accommodating the ability to choose the file naming conventions. It is appreciated.
