I uploaded a new image to my media library. It shows it as a grey square instead of the picture of a black box

when i upload a new image it shows as a grey square, i tried many things i tried to change Permissions to 755 to images file in wp-content > uploads
,and i tried to save all the images in one file instead of year-months files.
all of this did not work!
    is there another solution?
    thank you.

Correct permissions for files is usually 644. Only use 755 for folders.

What sort of image file format is involved? The image editor on your server may not be able to generate thumbnails of some of the stranger image formats.

We need more clues to propose a solution. Check you browser console for related messages after opening the media library. Open the network tab of the browser’s developer tools, then open the media library. Find the related filename in the list and click on it to see the related headers. What’s the status code? Compare other headers with those of a media file that does display correctly. Any difference could be another clue.

    I’m sure from the Permissions
I checked the Permissions of the folders it’s 755 and I changed it 744, and for the files 644
    and the problem not solve.

and I tried to deactivate the plugins but the problem not from plugins because when I deactivate it nothing changes ??

What is the name of the image’s thumbnail sized file? I can check headers with that information.
