WordPress Media Library very very slow

    Hi,

    my WordPress Media Library has suddenly got super slow and I don’t know why. At first, I thought it was a plugin conflict, so I’ve done the basic debugging stuff : disabled all the plugins, changed the theme, changed the PHP version on the server, etc.

    But nothing changed…still as slow as before.

    There is approximately 35 000 files in the Media Library but as far as I know, that shouldn’t be a problem?

    No, it shouldn’t be a problem. It might be related to your server. Can you check the CPU use on your server? Or perhaps ask your hosting company?

    I’m currently testing it locally and everything is running smoothly, until I perform a search in the Media Library. Then the CPU usage on my PC goes through the roof. The Apache HTTP Server process seems to be what’s causing my CPU to hit 100% usage.

    What are your server specs?

    the server specs are 15 CPU with 14GB RAM.
