  • Was it working for you on earlier versions of WP or S2 and broke after an upgrade of one or both? Or is this the first time you’ve put it inyour installation and are having trouble making it work?

    Are you sending the emails from an email address that matches the domain you’re hosted on?

    I have same problem after update to WP 3.6 my subscribe2 not more sending emails. I have this plugin installed on 3 domains and 3 diferent servers.
    But no one work after update with 3.6.
    Before updating to 3.6 all work perfect.

    I didn’t perform the upgrade, and I don’t know if they upgraded both the plugin and WordPress at the same time. But, I do know that it was working fine before the upgrade.

    @smpopke,

    Try installing a mail logger and see if the emails are being generated:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/email-log/

    I have WP 3.6 working fine with Subscribe2 8.9.1 but not as Multisite so it might be isolated to MU.

    @dmerkys,

    Try the mail logger also.

    I use instaliation WP of single sites not multisites. And for me not working.

    @dmerkys,

    I too use single sites of WordPress and Subscrobe2 works fine on my sites. That’s why the logger is a first step in debugging. It helps isolate an issue in the plugin settings or server configuration.

    I installed Email Log, send test message over Subscribe2. In Test Log showing thats messages sended, but iam not received any messages to my email. Probe test message send to site domain email and to gmail. But emails no.
    When probe send test message over hosting squirrelMail, messages got fine.

    @dmerkys,

    Something is causing the sending to be blocked on the server then. Check the sender email address ends in the same domain as the blog URI and set the number of recipients per email to 1. Also speak to your hosting provider and ask them why the emails are being blocked.

    I installed the email log plugin yesterday and then tried sending test emails from within the S2 plugin. The log never showed any emails being generated. I also installed an email test plugin, and did receive the test emails.

    Ok i understand, subscribe do work whit PHP Version 5.2.17?
    I remember that i got emails from to hosting provider about php version upgrades on hosting servers.

    Our site is also not able to send emails. It’s using WP 3.5.1 and I just upgraded to S2 8.9.1 from S2 8.3. I installed email-log as suggested. I can send emails from a different plugin for sending emails. Emails are not being sent when I try Send Email Preview. I checked the log. When I try to subscribe from another address, I am not taken to a generated page saying that I’ll get a confirmation email. I have been able to send email to registered users (not subscribers) using the Send Email feature. Before the upgrade people were able to subscribe.

    @smpopke,

    How did you try sending a test in Subscribe2? From then Send Email page or an email preview of the template? Or did you do something with a post?

    @dmerkys,

    Subscribe2 works fine with PHP 5.2.17. If there has been a recent server update compare the old and current php.ini files (or get your hosting company to do it). I have had a issue with another user previously where the new php.ini file was not correctly configured.

    @clmerle,

    Have you had any error or warning messages? Have you checked for theme or plugin conflicts?

    No warnings. It was working the day before the upgrade. I did get the subscribe and unsubscribe working again. I had to choose a new landing page with the shortcodes. It’s only when I try to Send Email Preview that it does not send even though I get the message it sent. I advised my client that I overwrote the paid version of Subscribe2 HTML with the free one and that we need to make sure to get the upgrade (he may have to renew his subscription). Once we have the correct version, I’ll check it again.
