• I read that there won’t be support for WordPress MU. Does this mean there wont be anymore updates? No point in using it anymore in making future sites if no more updates. So I’m trying out regular WP and using multiuse but having problems with installation. So I’m thinking of going back to MU since I’ve had success with it, but wont if no support and no updates.

  • WordPress MU was integrated into WordPress 3.0 with the new name of Multisite. So you are correct MU will be no more as a stand alone entity, and all future updates are in WordPress core. I believe it is possible to upgrade from MU to WP3, though I don’t think that affects you.

However the setting up isn’t as easy as it could have been, but there is a nice wiki page explaining how to achieve it:

I read that there won’t be support for WordPress MU.

There’s support in upgrading WPMU to WP 3.0.1. One file in server to delete, one line in htaccess to replace and a line or so to add in wp-config.php and viola, MU is recognized as multisite mode right away. As you see, it’s much easier to upgrade MU 2.9.2 to WP 3.0 multisite than it is to change single WP 3.0 to multisite.

edit- ok, took too long to answer :p
