• WordPress multisite use same login cookie for both multisites pages.
I need that both pages on multisite network would have same login cookies, so if the same user is logged in on one site, and if it exist in other one – login him automatically !

It was like that on my solution, but dont know why now it is not like that, now you have to login separately on both pages even when the username password and etc is the same. It does not work since we have changed the server of the pages.

    The sites have different domains.

    How to do so ?

What plugin are you using to run the multiple domains?

Or are you talking two separate installs of WP?

No it is one wp installation. Actually i think it is domain-mapping.Version: 0.5.2

    Yes.

It does not work since we have changed the server of the pages.

Maybe you had something on the other server?

Out of the box with domain mapping you do initially have to login to both domains.

Moved completely all files, whole database – everything !

I dont know why, but it broke up , when moved ! (moved files, database, changed dnss)

Is there a way to do it ? maybe setting cookie domain value same for both sites (since i have looked at cookies on both sites after login, both are the same just this one value is different)

Don’t bump your posts (I’ve deleted it).

    As Andrea said:

That means you did something special, and we don’t know what it was.

Ok, lets start all over again.

How it would be possible to do ? To use same users table ? but it wont help since the domain thing in cookie will be different ? So lets just help me brainstorm ..

How it would be possible to make at all ?

Perhaps it depends on the role. I have a multi and I’m the only user, hence: I’m admin. I never have to login when I switch sites (that would have gone behind the whole point of making a network).
    Just a thought.

I need for all user roles, but it is not even for admins now. What plugins you are using for that ? domain-mapping ?

    Nope, no domain mapping.

    (@xfaktor)

So why is mine not doing so also, if it is build in functionality ? :S ideas ?

Just to remind : two different domains for two sites with multi

I don’t know how WP handles cookies and if a plugin can interfere…

XFactor – yours is not doing because, as you just stated, you have two different domains.

Roy’s works as he is going from main site to subdomain

With domain mapping you *have* to login to each domain separately. To allow you otherwise opens you up to security vulnerabilities.

Ok thanks this was best answer so far.

Just want to ask, even if would like to do that nevertheless the vulnerabilities, how i should do it ? Thank you. You dont need to post code, just explain method how it should be done at all.
