• Good Morning-

I’ve spent a good chunk of time trying to figure out how to format the layout of my page. I.e., what the header looks like, where the menus go, how many columns there are, where the meta goes, etc. I have the fanwood theme installed.

There is a global layout option that has a ton of options like “layout_hr_2c_r”. I dont really get the shorthand for what all these letters mean. Is there a guide somewhere to this?

Furthermore, and more importantly, is there a way for me to manipulate individual features of the page? For example I love this theme but I would like to change some things. I dont like the way the comments display on the front page. How can I change that? I want to move the meta but I dont see that option either.

    Thanks in advance,
    John

What do you want to change, specifically?

On the bottom left, under all posts, it lists most recent comments. These comments are listed in the order they were made, regardless of of the post. I would like to at least tinker with this.

Secondly, the meta tab with site admin, logout, etc I would like to move into a horizontal bar somewhere.

third I have a primary and secondary menu at the top and they both have a search feature on them. Obviously, this is redundant. How do I remove one? I can’t seem to find it under menu options.

Are you familiar with CSS, HTML and PHP?

First you’d need to create a Child Theme. Then, for the PHP file you need to modify, copy it and paste it into your Child Theme directory (with the exception of functions.php). You can then modify that file in your Child Theme directory.

Like a million dollars, I know they exist, but they are an enigma.

I’ll do some more tinkering and re-post if I need more help. Thanks big guy.
