    Hi Guys,

Since updating to wordpress 4.4.1 my site has been nothing but stressful! A whole load of themes are bocked by my internet security if I try to use them because it say there is phishing malware. It seems very slow also at the minute. I wanted to run lifestyle theme but have had to change to adella for the time being. Is wordpress 4.4.1 bugged? Had nothing but problems. I have tried deactivating plug ins and that has not helped. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Oh and I forgot to mention the hassle I have had with featured images and not being able to use them. Although it lets me set them, they just don’t appear on the posts!

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

Also, what are you using for the internet security that says most themes are malware?

Okay thanks I shall give that a go. I am using kapersky for Internet protection.

Ah, make sure that Kaspersky’s definitions are up to date. They’ve been throwing a lot of false-positives lately.

Okay thanks, I am changing from my laptop to my pc just in case as I just reinstalled kapersky on my laptop so wondered if it had something to do with them!

Okay so I done the deletion of files other than the two you said to keep. Reinstalled….wiped my whole website and am having to start again! I think I have found the problem though, which is kind of a kick in the teeth as I have already wiped it. It seems to be whenever I try to use Jetpack social media icons in widgets it starts playing up and saying there is malware. Still can’t use featured images but that’s the last of my worries right now.

I don’t think you’ve wiped everything, but you may have replaced the wp-config.php file accidentally.

Open that up, and make sure that the database details are correct, and that $table_prefix matches your database.

To check that, access your database via phpMyAdmin (usually found in your hosting account’s control panel). The prefix is the _ and everything before it.

So, if you have a table named salad_posts you’ll want that line in wp-config.php to be:

    $table_prefix = 'salad_';

The prefix will be the same for all tables.

Whoops, forgot the other question, is it still Kaspersky complaining about malware?

Put the widget back, and run your site through https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/ instead.

    Hi,
I can assure you I did everything exactly as you said and I was left with a clean and new site! Fortunately with my own sense and skill I had made quite a few back ups before hand in case this happened as I thought it might. I have managed to get everything as it should be know. Yes it is still kapersky saying there is malware but all problems with this and in my website only happen when this widget is being used, I definitely feel it is bugged. Thank you for your help in this matter though.

Unless you have a compromised copy of Jetpack, I can assure you there’s no malware in Jetpack.

Add the widget and run your site through a reputable scanner, like https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/

Thank you for the advice. I added the widget again earlier and it did the same. I have since added it back to go and run it through the scanner you suggested and all of a sudden it worked fine. I did a scan to be sure and all good. All my problems started happening after the latest jetpack update so whether there was just something misaligned somewhere if you get what I mean! Thank you for your help.

I need help i can not access the admin of my website and my website is out for more that 24 hours.
How can o resolve that my website is https://www.drvaniasaude.com

    Hi vaniahealthcare,

for this to have happened, I am guessing you made a change before you got locked out? the only way to get to the files to change/undo what you last did would be through the person who is hosting your website. If you made no changes then I would either go on live chat or email your website host as it is probably their end if you made no changes. Hope that helps! ??

@lady Billie awesome, glad it’s working now!

@vaniahealthcare if that doesn’t help, please open your own thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting#postform
