• I am at my wits end trying to figure out why my blog emails are not being sent. They were working fine two days ago, and then emails stopped working. I hadn’t made any changes in the meantime. I’m hosted on GoDaddy and they are reporting some queuing problems, but the emails went out at 5:00 a.m. – it’s 3:00 pm and still no show. They now say it must be a WordPress issue and don’t offer any support.

I’m using these plug-ins (see below), but have disabled them and re enabled, with no change. The email logs on the blog say the emails are being sent, but no one is receiving them.

  • If they were being sent, and you haven’t changed anything in WordPress, either plugin/theme, then I highly doubt it is a WordPress issue.

    Thanks for your quick reply!

Is there any way to check this for sure? Sometimes it’s a little challenging dealing with a hosting company when you can’t prove anything and you’re not that technically savvy.

Are there any other tests that I can do to eliminate possible issues on my end or theirs?

Well it is standard to suggest deactivating all plugins, and use the Twentyten theme and then test.

But you should also check your site error logs at the time of the test to see if anything shows up.

    creativefield,

I think the first troubleshooting step is to confirm that mail is being sent from the server. I suggest you visit https://x.co/emailhelp to submit a support request. Include a description of the issue and ask them to test that mail can be sent via php. They can run a test script for this purpose. If there aren’t any problems sending mail, we’d need to get a copy of one of the messages that appears not to be sending so we can determine if there is a specific reason that the email would fail to send.

Hey creativefield, any luck with this? I’m having the same issue with Godaddy starting about that time too.

    Hi Migee,
I spoke with someone at GoDaddy and they said it was an issue on their end and that their email servers had queuing issues. It was pretty frustrating for about a week and then, it started working. Unfortunately, other than the possible server issue, I never found out what the problem was.

Thanks for the reply. I contacted them but they said everything was ok. I triple checked everything in my gmail (business account) and no filters, nothing in spam, trash, other, etc. I don’t know why but I created other accounts in my business domain and they worked fine.

I ended up just changing the from address in WordPress to a new email (and having that email address exist as well, like my last one) and it works fine again. *Shrug*

Glad to hear you were able to get it working again.
