Hello, my wordpress is still stuck on version 4.9.5. It states ” You have the latest version of wordpress” There has been a previous forum about this (WordPress not updating to latest version) same problem i’m having, i have gone to wp-config.php and removed the define(‘AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED’, true); line but that did not make a difference. the conversation sort of ended and so not sure what else to do, not a coding expert here.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    Thanks,
    Kartik

    Hi

So tried using all PHP Versions, enabling/disabling extensions, disabling all plugins and custom themes, using a default .htaccess file and even copying all core files into a fresh installation. Still nothing there is also an error.
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::has_errors() in public_html/wp-admin/update-core.php:467
Not sure how to fix that or what the cause is

    Hello,

Sorry that the solution didn’t help.

You might need some professional help. As now it is important to find the root cause.

Or else try to install the latest WP version and place your theme and plugins in the latest copy if that helps.

    Thanks.

    @kartiks16 thank you very much.
I did get someone to replace the wordpress files with the newer version. So i am now up to date. Still don’t know what the cause was and hope i don’t have to go through this step every time there is an update.

    Hey arnold30

Happy to know that problem got solved.

Glad I could help you in some way.

    Thanks,
    Kartik
