WordPress on local for dev purposes

  • Hi guys,
    I plan то copy my WordPress website from production server to my local machine (running XAMPP), so I can work on the design.

    Can you recommend any steps/tips to prevent the local copy from sending emails and do other things that can affect real site users?
    (i have more than 300 registered users)

    Any tips for local development are welcome ??

  • Hi,

    its important to change the DB because all the urls have to change if you set the website to local.
    I use This tool to search & replace the urls.
