    Hello,

My travel music blog can be found here:
    https://traveltunes.activeplanettravels.com/

I am using SoundCloud playlist widgets to play music. The API can be found here:
    https://developers.soundcloud.com/docs/api/html5-widget#methods

It is crucial for my site that the songs in each playlist play automatically on mobile devices once the playlist is activated. Right now, the only way this happens is if the blog is open on the phone. If the user navigates to another webpage or app, or the phone screen turns off, (even though the blog is still open in the back round) then the next song wont load and play until the blog is brought back up on the screen.

Do you think SoundCloud or WordPress is responsible for this behavior? I emailed them and have had no response, so any insight you could provide would be very helpful!

    Thank you!

The way oEmbed works, Soundcloud provides the player whenever requested. So, if a player suddenly stops working, the problem is almost entirely on the source’s end.

It’s not that the player suddenly stops working….if a song is fully loaded it will continue to play in the background until it finishes. The problem is that the the next song won’t load and start unless the blog is open on the screen. Maybe you could give it a try on your mobile to see what i’m talking about. click on a post and then open another app or turn your phone screen off. You will see you have to go back to the post if you want to hear the next song.

    I really appreciate the help!

I suppose I could have worded it better.

The player is sent over by the oEmbed provider (in this case, Soundcloud), so if there’s any problem with it, the issue is on the provider’s end (Soundcloud), unless you’re using a plugin to specifically modify the embed.

Ok I get it, thanks. I was just making sure that the website was not becoming inactive and not receiving data or something when it’s not up on the phone.
