• Hi,

I am using your plugin (and I love it!), and it’s adding some data to the datalayer, including for example the WordPress “page title”.
Unfortunately all special characters (; ‘ ! etc.) come out garbled. Here is an example of what the plug in produces:

    dataLayer.push({“visitorLoginState”:”logged-in”,”pageTitle”:”Mike “goleafsgoeh&#8221s […]

    While it should be:
    dataLayer.push({“visitorLoginState”:”logged-in”,”pageTitle”:”Mike “goleafsgoeh” Leah’s […]

    Any idea?

    Hi Xavier,

Everything is added to the dataLayer using a proper HTML entity encoding meaning although you see those scary symbols in the HTML source but you should see the proper data in GA, AdWords or any system you are passing this data through.

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for your answer! Interesting, you are right that the data layer variable in GTM comes out fine, so all is good with your plug in. Strangely, I still get garbled text in GA, but again, since it’s fine in GTM, the issue is not on your side.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer

    Xavier
