• Wordpress has been painfully slow. I hosted my wordpress in bluehost. Initially I thought it’s the server issue. But then I tried hosting in the Hostinger web host service and still found it extremely slow. It takes 45secs for the first page request(eg : merlinsourcing.com/about) to complete but after which all other assets complete loading instantly. Sometimes after trying to load for more than 45 secs I get “Error establishing a database connection”.

To note: I migrated this wordpress from another hosting.
Any suggestions on how to fix/debug this?.

    Following are plugins I use:
Translate press, Htmegamenu, Elementor, Elementor Pro, Contact Form 7, nitropack, leadsquared Suite, Country & Phone Field Contact Form 7, Head, Footer and Post Injections, Ivory Search, WP Job Openings, Yoast SEO

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

You’re not using any caching or optimization plugins. I like using the combination of “autoptimize” and “comet cache” to get decent TTFB and a reduction in the number of requests.

In addition to what Steven has said, Elementor is adding a lot of overhead to your site. Please search for ways to optimize an Elementor website. It can be done, but it takes work.

Thanks Steven for the feedback. Will check those plugins. @bigmoxy I have another elementor wordpress website and it works flawlessly. Can this frequent database connection error relate something to the issue I’m facing?
