Hi there, I’ve just got my hosting account from Startlogic.com and I’m aware that this hosting package supports wordpress. After I’ve set up a database and created a username and password. I’ve uploaded everything into the server directory. Unfortunately I’ve getting this error

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/danspiri/public_html/wp-includes/classes.php on line 231

Any idea how to solve this problem? Please help!!

  • That seems to be a corrupted file.
Upload the files again. What ftp client are you using?

I’m using Filezilla. In fact I’ve deleted it and done it again for the second time. Same results!!

Well, there is no $ in line 231 of that file.
I’d try a fresh copy – meaning new download, new unzip… and replace that file.

moshu, is it just me or there’s actually something wrong with the download in www.ads-software.com? I’ve tried download but seems to be something wrong downloading it. Please help.

I just did a quick download and everything was OK.
Note, it is the new 2.2.1 version.
