wordpress password not working

Dear all

so…. I come to update my blog and it asks me for my password, which seems to happen at irregular intervals

only now it says ‘password not recognised’ – and I know it’s right – it’s the same one that worked perfectly yesterday. So I click on the ‘forgotten password’ link and it sends me an email and I click the link and it says ‘key not valid’ on occasion, or just rejects the password.

what the merry hell is happening?

how can I fix it?
