WordPress-People?

  • I remember there used to be a hack called wordpress people that allowed you to have a personal profile page for each friend or family member with a link to that page whenever you typed in their name. Is there a plugin avaliable or similar to that? If not, would someone be interested in developing one? I think many people would find it useful.

    As pointed out, it works now and won’t blow up your blog and more. ?? I haven’t put it into the Wiki yet, want to see if anyone finds any more bugs.

    I’d appreciate any feedback on installation and use.

    Hi,
    wp-people.php sounds like what I am looking for. Anyone know the current download URL or am I missing something? I have searched the forums but could not find anything.

    The domain https://dean-logan.com/ seems to go to a jewelry website and the link https://www.dean-logan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6&start=15 returns a 404.

    Any ideas?

    I have a copy of the latest version of the plugin. I haven’t used it in a while and don’t know if it works with 1.5.2. Would you like me to send it to you in an email? My email address is bando89 AT gmail.com

    Those two links seem to be working just fine for me, jtnez. Must have been a temporary thing, but the site and forum are both coming up for me right now.

    Yes, I would like a copy of it please. Currenly, I am using wp 1.5.2 so if anyone out there can confirm the latest version of wp-people works with 1.5.2 of wp, that would be great. Email me at jtnez AT alittlestupid DOT COM.

    Thanks for your help. It was a DNS issue with work. I was able to successfully get to the website from home.

    Does anyone know if there is a good working version that, works well with WP 2+ ?

    I have it working, but it only links the persons name once, in each entry, if I mention their name more than once, then they are not linkable.
