    I have two questions :

    1) If I install this plugin, does WordPress still issue pings every time I update or create a post? In other words will I end up with both types of notification going on, on my WordPress site, and if so is this a problem?

    2) If I use pubpubsubhubbub on my site what does it help me to get my posts indexed in the search engines, or can it only notify those listening for my posts already? I am confused about who will receive these push notifications and how to set it up so that Google gets to hear about posts.

    Hey diywebmastery,

    1) yes, it will send both, pings and pushes. this is no problem except that it last a bit more time to save a post.

    2) I don’t know if google uses the pushes for the search results, but the google-reader does support them. you can add and remove the servers who should be pinged on the pubsubhubbub settings page.

Thanks for your answer but where do I find the pubsubhubbub servers who should be pinged?

It doesn’t matter which one you will use. pubsubhubbub is a standard, if a client like “google reader” does support it, it will look at your RSS/Atom feed, which server you ping and will subscribe to them.

i think the best way is to stay with both suggested: https://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com (Google) and https://superfeedr.com/hubbub (one of the biggest services around there).
