PLEASE DO NOT FREAK OUT! YOU ARE NOT ALONE! DO NOT DELETE YOUR CURRENT WORDPRESS SITE BECAUSE OF THIS ERROR!

There is another topic here, but with a title that may be misleading to others. I wanted to create this topic to prevent users from deleting their install and starting over fresh!

The WordPress plugin system is currently down. Some symptoms include:

    * “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.” — This is happening all over the WordPress backend
    * You get redirected to the general plugins page when you try to download the ZIP file for a given plug

If anyone else can contribute their findings, it would be greatly appreciated and I am sure that it will help the WordPress core developers out.

I noticed this starting to happen around 5:30PM Central Time.

Further notes: clicking “View details” next to a plugin will prompt the same error.

I’m getting this error “An error occurred while updating iThemes Security: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature” on all my plugins I’m trying to update. I’m assuming it’s related to this as well as I’ve double checked my hosting (Dreamhost) has plenty of drive space.

Try again — it just came back online.

That was it! Glad that was the issue…
