I need other WordPress webmasters opinion on this

My web host is Unlimited (well it was when I jump with them years ago before they got bought by another owner). On their website today my host plan says everything unlimited, 256mb Ram, 1 Cpu.

    Now for the first time I see this error ;
503 – The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems.

After contacting my host they told my this…

Your site has been limited within the past 24 hours
Physical memory resources were limited for your site

    Physical Memory Usage
    255.94 MB / 256 MB ( 100% )

You have reached entry processes (number of simultaneously running php
and cgi scripts, as well as cron jobs and shell sessions) limit 1888
    times

    Entry Processes
    45 / 50 ( 90% )

You have reached processes number limit 2288 times

    Number Of Processes
    48 / 50 ( 96% )

I/O usage resources were limited for your site
I/O operations per second were limited for your site

To make your website work again you need to upgrade your hosting plan
to a plan offering more resources, you might need to check the
dedicated servers that we offer :

I have not change anything in particular, and my website is not into it’s peak season of the year at the moment.

WordPress on its own will run just fine on an average shared host with 32 MB of allocated RAM.

With that said, some plugins and themes can certainly be memory hogs and process hogs.

https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/p3-profiler/ may help you isolate the problem, but beware that P3’s default scan pulls its performance numbers from how plugins affect logged in users (like you), not normal visitors. While that’s a good general measure, plugins that load special things for admins, like Jetpack, may seem in the results like the source of all your problems while that resource bump really only affects *your* visits (and only when you’re logged in). That’s explained with some recommendations by P3’s developer at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/not-worth-the-performance-penalties/#post-7734656

If your hosting provider is willing to give you time to solve this, I recommend that you try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Seventeen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/server-ip-memory-usage/ will help you keep track of memory usage in your Dashboard’s footer.

If your hosting provider is not willing to give you time to solve this, I recommend switching to a different one: https://www.ads-software.com/hosting/

Thank you for your reply. Since that day I have read your comment, I was then able to check your options above.

I also made sure all my WP site components were really up to date, and I discovered that my Askimet was no more connected. Hope now that might also help fix things. I also made sure my Wordfence and my WP SuperCacche plugins were ok. Just in case. I feel bullet proof now. Hope it is…

    Thanks again for that help.
