Hi @slocs,
We would be happy to help you out. To answer your concerns:
Email: I was asked to enter a username and email address (no password). The OTP email was sent and recognized. I was then redirected to a page saying ‘check your email’. I haven’t received an email since and am unable to login as the new user as there was no password field on user registration (even though the user has been created in the admin section).
This is the default WordPress Registration behavior. Your users have been created but not activated. WordPress sends out a confirmation email after initial registration. Users have to click the activation link in the email to complete the registration process.
As you are using our SMTP Gateway for sending out emails we have had to limit the email sending to just OTP Verification. Any other email being sent out by WordPress doesn’t go through our plugin. You would probably need to configure an SMTP plugin which would reconfigure the wp_mail() PHP function and send all outgoing emails via an SMTP server.
If you would like that the plugin automatically creates the account and logs the user in without sending out any emails then we would have to change the default WordPress behavior. We can do that for you as a customization in the plugin. Please drop an email to [email protected] to discuss this further.
SMS: I have tried the SMS OTP with numbers for 2 different countries (Singapore and Australia) and both time it throws an error saying it can’t send the OTP to those numbers. They are both valid mobile numbers that I use on a daily basis.
If possible could you drop us an email at [email protected] with the phone numbers and details of your miniOrange account then we will be able to help you look into this?
