WordPress running on DVD

Hi
Just checking before I dive into wordpress that it will actually do what I want.
Can I produce a website (to do with the history of a club)that will have a few mainly text pages, but be primarily a photo gallery with lots of images. The images are to be tagged and searchable by the tags. That bit I’m guessing wont be a problem.
The problem bit is I need to run this from a DVD, there are a few solutions to needing PHP and SQL, but has anyone used them ?
I’d be a bit miffed if I produced a site that did what I wanted online but failed when moved to DVD
