WordPress running so slow, WHY???

  • WordPress has been running really slowly, so slow that it is hardly worth using.

    I have installed the latest version. today but still the same.

    No plugins and use basic template.

    Any ideas.

    Not sure what you mean, that URL loaded just fine. In the page source you’ve got this near the end:

    <!-- 24 queries. 0.816 seconds. -->

    Page load took only 4.7 seconds. Not light speed exactly but not bad either.

    I don’t see anything in the source that would indicate a cause – maybe just a server issue?

    As it is the most basic wordpress, no plugins add on’s etc I’m finding it really difficult to find the cause of the problem.

    All other pages on the server (without wordpress) run at a good speed.

    Any other ideas??

    I had posts scheduled, so just logged on today after four days and YES
    I agree – there’s a problem.

    Plus my home page is all messed up. No idea why. I didn’t do anything to it. Last time I looked it was fine.
