• Hi Sir/Mdm,

I have various articles from 3 different post types on my site.

1 – The standard WordPress Posts.
2 – Events and Webinars custom post type.
3 – Ebook custom post type.

I am having issue with the wordpress search function. Searching the exact title of the post does not bring me the result for many articles, especially ones from the ebook custom post type. I tried using 2 different search plugins but neither resolves the issue for me.

Apparently this issue also affects the default WordPress search. I tried deactivating all plugins, and just use the default wordpress search, which is just searching for the standard Post type. But when I tried searching for the exact title for the post article, it also did not bring the result, just showing no results displayed.

Anyone else experiencing this issue too? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • Yes correct, the default WP search query does not include custom post types by default.

There are plugins that will add custom posts to search or you can add a code snippet.

If you using CPT UI Plugin for your “Custom Posts Types”

you can easily show it on WP Search by
Set on CPT UI Setting > Exclude From Search > False

it will make your “Custom Posts Types” show on WordPress Search

Yes I have done everything mentioned here. I have tried using plugins, and also set the Exclude from Search as False, also tried using code snippets. None of them seemed to fix the issue. When searching for the title of the blog, the result will still not show anything.
Is this a known issue with WP search?

I would suggest your issue is specific to your implementation and you need to deeper dive. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
